Bangkok police uncovered a scheme involving "black money" fraud. During the operation, four foreigners were arrested for trying to deceive as police officers. During the investigation, it was found that the criminals also dealt with drug trafficking, which was confirmed by sources from Bangkok Post. Additionally, Thai Examiner reported that eight Africans were arrested who worked in the Sukhumvit network and specialized in serving tourists. Khaosod English added that two Chinese citizens were also detained for trying to extort money from Russian tourists under the guise of police officers. After the successful completion of the operation, Bangkok police began internal reforms and anti-corruption efforts among their staff, as noted by Thaiger.
