Thai police have arrested two Nigerian citizens and one Thai woman on suspicion of involvement in online romance scam schemes. The suspects were detained in Phuket province. It is known that they used social networks to establish contact with victims and fraudulently obtained large sums of money from them. According to police, the scammers operated using a typical scheme: they created fake profiles on social networks, presenting themselves as successful businessmen or travelers. After establishing trusting relationships with victims, the perpetrators would begin talking about their financial problems and asking for monetary assistance. As a result of the fraudulent activities, several people from different countries were affected. Police conducted searches at the suspects' residences and discovered computer equipment, documents, and other items that may be linked to criminal activity. An investigation is underway to establish all the facts of the incident.
